moreland avenue. south moreland avenue. i mean pretty south, below interstate 20. that’s where delia’s chicken sausage stand is, and that is where we were last week when we had the most fun new restaurant wednesday to date.
new restaurant wednesdays
my close-knit group of friends here in atlanta have begun a new tradition so simply titled “new restaurant wednesday.” each week we venture to and review a restaurant new to our crew. it is here where you will find our reviews of those restaurants. beware that our honest opinions know no bounds.
the porter beer bar – atlanta, ga
hipsters unite! because NRW this week took us on an adventure to bohemian little five points (l5p for shorthand), just east of the city, to experience everything cozy, cramped, and welcoming about the porter beer bar.
kitty turns 26!
i met kiley jo carole (aka kitty) in college at the university of georgia. we were both in the redcoat marching band, she on the flagline and i on the mellophone. we lived together on penny drive our senior year in athens and have been best friends ever since. this past week she turned 26 and invited us to celebrate with her at einstein’s, an innovative local establishment in the heart of midtown. read on to find out just how much fun we had!
stillhouse – atlanta, ga
well, folks. week three of NRW found us at stillhouse in the east andrews area of atlanta, where burgers and moonshine reign as kings. we had 10 people and lots of opinions, so hold on tight for a lot of perspective!
weekend visit
this past weekend my parents were in town for a visit, so naturally we had to eat our way through the few days they were here.
king + duke – atlanta, ga
this week our NRW adventure brought us to the prestigious king + duke in buckhead. how prestigious? so much so that when i was chatting about it in the office, my foodie coworker james popped his head over the cube wall to listen in.
the smoke ring – atlanta, ga
congratulations to the smoke ring, the local establishment that had the honor of hosting our inaugural NRW tradition!
this cozy spot in the castleberry hill neighborhood of atlanta sparked our interest when we checked out their menu online. the eats looked intriguing and comfy, soulful and hearty, descriptors that should be no stranger to a southern dish.
